The annual fundraising event for CFUW Brantford is Trivia Night, held in February of each year. Money raised at this event goes to the Scholarship Fund. Teams of four people answer a variety of questions, typically ten rounds of ten questions per round. The top three teams are awarded cash prizes. This event is usually held at the Dunsdon Legion, complete with complimentary pizza and pop and a cash bar.
Trivia Night has raised nearly $30,000 over the past fourteen years. In 2023, the event raised $3,000 and had about 30 Club members — over a third of our Club — actively engaged in everything from selling books and tickets to participating on teams.
Scholarships are awarded to girls graduating from high school and to women who are mature students returning for post-secondary education. Our Scholarship Committee fosters relationships with local secondary schools and relevant organizations to ensure that potential award winners are encouraged to submit applications.
