Mayoral Candidates Night – October 3, 2018
The event, sponsored once again by RTO District 40, was extremely well attended by CFUW members, RTO members and other members of the public. We had a full house! Six of the seven candidates were present: Kevin Davis, Chris Friel, Michael Issa, Wayne Maw, John Turmel and Dave Wrobel. Nora Fueten was, once again, our excellent moderator.

100 Years of CFUW – The Power of Women Working Together
On August 15-17, 2019, CFUW members and guests will gather in Winnipeg Manitoba to celebrate the momentous event of CFUW’s 100th Anniversary. The meeting will be held at the historic Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. It is very fitting that Winnipeg is the location of our meeting since it was in Winnipeg in 1919 that representatives met to organize the CFUW.
Conference and Programs
The Conference will include the recognition of one hundred notable CFUW women who have made outstanding contributions within CFUW and/or to the wider community; locally, nationally, or internationally in the fields of Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Political Engagement, Organizational Leadership, Cultural Endeavours, or Social Innovation.
Sessions will focus on various aspects of women and their role in education and the world. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Dianne Dodd the author who is writing the history of CFUW. The Government of Canada will unveil a plaque acknowledging the 100th Anniversary of CFUW. Stay tuned for more information on the conference and programs as it becomes available.
