
All Candidates’ Night a huge success

Kathryn Goodhue, the Head Librarian at the Brantford Public Library, presented on “The Library in the 21st Century”. She spoke about all the programs offered through the Brantford Library, the increasing focus on technology, and also about the exciting redesign and renovation of the main Brantford. library. It was very informative and all present enjoyed her presentation.

On March 28th, Beth McAlister gave a presentation on “The Role of Single Gender Women’s Organizations in University Life”. During her undergraduate years at the University of Waterloo, Beth joined Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) Women’s Fraternity to enhance her undergraduate experience and she has continued her involvement since graduation. All agreed that her presentation was very informative.

During her undergraduate years at the University of Waterloo, Beth McAllister joined Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) Women’s Fraternity to enhance her undergraduate experience and she has continued her involvement since graduation. A new initiative called Beyond Happy Faces, a Mental Wellness interactive workshop, is provided by Beth to campuses in Canada and the US.
CFUW Brantford members and guests enjoyed last week’s general meeting with speaker Gail Wolters. Gail is the Founder and President of Canadian Nurses for Africa.

Our speaker for the February General meeting will be Gail Wolters. Gail is the Founder and President of Canadian Nurses for Africa. Each spring a group of nurses and a few doctors head to Africa where they set up clinics in various locations. People come from miles around to have their health issues addressed.
The 11th Annual Trivia Night was a success! Over $2300 was raised in support of the CFUW Brantford Scholarship Fund!
The winning team were Betsy, Alec, Nick and Tish. Congratulations!
Thanks to the participants, local businesses and CFUW members for monetary donations and donations of prizes and books, those who volunteered to help, Domino’s pizza, and the Dunsdon Legion. Special thanks to the organizing committee: Lynn, Brenda, Dian and Colette! A good time was had by all!
