On Sept 26th, 28 CFUW members attended a guided tour of the new Laurier Brantford YMCA given by Pat Kitchen, Executive Director. It is a beautiful facility and will be enjoyed by all for many years to come!

Kathryn Goodhue, the Head Librarian at the Brantford Public Library, presented on “The Library in the 21st Century”. She spoke about all the programs offered through the Brantford Library, the increasing focus on technology, and also about the exciting redesign and renovation of the main Brantford. library. It was very informative and all present enjoyed her presentation.

The Role of Single Gender Women’s Organizations in University Life
On March 28th, Beth McAlister gave a presentation on “The Role of Single Gender Women’s Organizations in University Life”. During her undergraduate years at the University of Waterloo, Beth joined Kappa Kappa Gamma (KKG) Women’s Fraternity to enhance her undergraduate experience and she has continued her involvement since graduation. All agreed that her presentation was very informative.

A new initiative called Beyond Happy Faces, a Mental Wellness interactive workshop, is provided by Beth to campuses in Canada and the US.
